chemical decompostion/aged materials

My glaze pantry has been in the same place for 30 years now, and I have some
materials I use rarely that are close to that old. What I HAVE found is
that there is some difference in the way some work from new supplies, as
distinguished from the OLD supplies. But that is the (inevitable) change in
the materials on the market now, as distinguished from then.

I have not had any difference in materials just because they are old.

THIS IS NOT a chemist's opinion, but a potter's. I DO NOT KNOW CAN CERTAIN
NONTOXIC MATERIALS BECOME TOXIC WITH AGE. This is something someone
knowledgable will have to tell you.,
