does any one have any decent ^6 recipes that respond well to carving ?
I have one so far but it turns an unattractive shade of brown/grey some times or just dark (obscures the carving ) in a gas firing .
i am carving on ^6 bmix and would like to find a glaze that pools over carving like a celadon or at least gives some sort of highlight to the carving ..
thanks in advance ...

A good transparent with .25% or less of cobalt carb to make a pale blue
or with a % or so of copper carb to make a light green or with a little
of both do very well.

Hi Ian,
This is a nice glaze for breaking textures in an electric kiln. It is
expensive to make and the glaze gurus will tell you that it is not food safe
and that the expansion is too low...even though it has all of those
problems, it is a great glaze over carved surfaces that do not come in
direct contact with food. (and here's irony, Tom's glaze is shivering
because of its 10% lithium and here I am recommending one with 7%... I
must add that I have never had problems with this one shivering.)
