Howdy,
My buddy has a firing with many pinholed glazes. This
does not happen with his stoneware but with the new
clay body from Laguna Miller 510 which is a white
stoneware. Has anybody had any problems with
pinholing with this clay body and if so how did you
fix it? He fired to a hard cone 10.
Thank you,
Tony Ferguson

Tony,
Miller 510 is one of my standard studio bodies. I've never had a problem
with any of my glazes pinholing when used over it, but then, I don't know
anything about your friend's glazes or firing methods.
I also fire to a hard cone 10, and the only heads-up I would give him is
that is the extreme upper limit of that clay...perhaps if he went over to
11 the clay is becoming overvitrified.
So, don't know, can't say, just my thoughts...
Best,
