Hi friends,

An aquaintence in Williamsburg, VA who is also a potter is moving and needs
to get rid of a 7 cubic feet electric Crusader kiln in good condition. She
also has some replacement bricks and elements.

She needs to get rid of it this weekend, so if you're interested, please
email her ASAP - it's free, you'd just need to pick it up!

Her name is Donna, and her email is dhkais@wm.edu.

Elaine,

I, too, acquired an ancient Crusader with no kiln sitter. It had the six =
switches and 12 elements. I purchased a "Controller" from Dawson. Their =
website is: =20
http://www.kiln-sitter.com/index.html
The kiln sitter is a very basic but effective device. The Controller =
(LT-3KR or LT-KR2) is more controlled. No pun intended. My partner, =
Alan, installed it. He'd be happy to fill you in with all sorts of info =
if you're interested. He's a real teacher sort of person!

It's just a great kiln. I truly lucked out getting mine!

Elaine, I think the Crusaders are extinct. I have one and it is ancient,
ancient, ancient! It has 6 infinity switches that control 12 elements.
No kiln sittter. I have to watch a shelf cone or free standing cone to
know when the clay/glaze firing is complete. It's a bit of a PITA, but I
get the absolutely best firings this way. As a matter of fact, just
yesterday I fired a big glaze load in it, let it cool overnight, and
this morning I had a kiln load of drop-dead-georgeous Floating Blue!!
Would not trade my Crusader for money!!!

Catherine, thanks for the info.

I am slowly - so very slowly - building my own electronic kiln
controller and writing software which will control the kiln and be run
from my desktop computer.

Thanks again,
