I want to reinforce the other respondents--PEWABIC is a great place for
ceramics in Detroit.

The People Mover hasn't been mentioned.

It is certainly work seeing.
Almost every station has tile murals covering the walls,
(plus art of other materials.)

Take a ride all the way around the People Mover
(I like to begin from Greek Town)
and get off at each station to find the art.
Some is at track level, some is below.
Go down the stairs from ramp level at each station,
but DO NOT EXIT.
Go back up the stairs (or escalator) to track level before the next
train comes,
just 10 minutes later.

The whole trip will take less than an hour.

Stations are by Tom Phardel, Jun Kaneko, Farley Tobin, etc.
You can see Detroit's Calder from the train, also the Canadian shore,
and lots of other interesting views.

Then, back in Greek Town don't miss the 7 story fountain on the back
wall of the Fish Bones Restaurant,

and the fantastic BAKERY in the middle of the block on your way back
toward the parking structure.

A native Detroiter,
