ok. here's one of those fabulous tips from fools like me who want to be a potter,
some day... read the appendix before sending off a message.
yup, i just found the appendix in Bailey's book.
useful thing, that.
i asked what high alkaline frit to use in his HA1, High Alkaline Glaze.
well, according to his appendix, i can use Ferro 3110, which i just happen to have.
then i also want to test some glazes with his GA13 Clear Base (page 104 in my
copy)... a cone 6 glaze...
calls for 9% high alkaline frit
and 9% calcium borate frit.
looking in that same, very helpful appendix, i can use Ferro 3110 again for the high
alkaline frit and Ferro 3124 for the calcium borate frit.
looks like i could also use GB instead of the 3124.
usual disclaimer... i'm a dummy...
here's the question... are these the frits you would use?
at the end of the day, our pantry has the folowing frits
3110
3124
3134
3195
from some scribbled notes of mine, looks like 3134 and 3195 also have calcium
borate... why wouldn't i use either of these... and when would i use them?
as usual, your help is greatly appreciated.
thanks.
