updated fri 27 jun 03

Jones, Jeffrey C. on thu 26 jun 03

During the week of Friday 4th July to Friday 11th July 2003 you will be able
to contribute to a live debate through the pages of Interpreting Ceramics,
electronic journal ( www.interpretingceramics.com
). This week includes the weekend of
the Aberystwyth International Ceramics Festival (4th - 6th July), which
takes place every two years in Aberystwyth, Wales, UK. Computers will be
available at the festival for festival-goers to make their contribution but
anyone is welcome to join in the discussion. To start the debate off we are
inviting comments on the role of ceramic festivals and the ways that they
impact on ceramic practice. The debate will be truly 'live' with
contributions appearing instantaneously on the web site.

On Saturday 5th July at 3.00 p.m. (1400 hrs GMT, 1500 hrs British Summer
Time) we are proposing to hold a special online meeting as part of our first
live debate. This meeting would be a more focussed time within the period of
a week that the live debate is open. We would like to invite you to this
meeting; you would simply need to be at your computer at this time ready to
make a contribution. We have tried to arrange a time that would suit most
of you but we realise that we cannot suit everyone. For those of you for
whom this time falls in the middle of the night, remember that you can
always add your contribution later.
