I've been staying quiet which is quite the departure for me but
Mel will be in Suquamish WA Sept. 14-15th.
I am very excited that he will be here and hope all you Clayarters come.
I went to Mel's workshop in 1999 in Westminster, CO. It was fabulous!
It was apparent to me then that if I ever had the opportunity I'd have to go
again.
He's a wealth of information from A to Z and has the ability to interest
potters of all levels of expertise. And.... if we're good he might even read
a palm or two. :->
While there he debugged a new kiln at Westminster's Rec center,
made good potters better, great potters inspired & new potters better and
inspired.
In 1999 I was relatively new to clay & though Mel offered I was reluctant to
get on a wheel for some hands on instruction. This time I'll not be so shy!
What... me shy???
If everyone is ok with the idea I'll have a Clayart party at my house which
is
10 minutes from ClaySpace.
A shameless plug for Clayspace........ it is a beautiful spot. The last
workshop (Lana Wilson) I attended there we saw Bald Eagles perched on
pilings,
viewed postcard scenes from her huge studio windows & walked along the
beach.
Brenda's studio is a wonderful space I wish I had one like it!
Brenda's site is www.clayspaceonpugetsound.com
If you cannot access it write to me and I'll give you Brenda's phone number.
If you are in the Puget Sound area give yourself a really nice gift of Mel.
See you there.

Guess it's like preaching to the choir, but do take advantage of any
workshop with our Mel San.
Mel and Dannon gave our first week long workshop at Nottingham and it
was great ! Mel has reduced throwing to its basics and makes it so
easy. His easy going manner and conversational stories of his life in
clay are wonderful stories. If ya get to do a workshop with Dannon
Rhudy, do it. She's the best.
We were so fortunate to have them both.
Much love to ya all,

PS- we had a great Giant Pit Fire Party last weekend. Andy Clift , of
Claystation.com, came and assisted folks in decorating their stuff for
the pit. Pat Crabb sent a good group down from Santa Ana College. We had
folks from all over so. Calif. playing in the fire and meeting new clay
friends.
