cast iron sinks

I bought the black Kohler cast iron sink, Entree is its style name.

It looks really good with the Waterfall brown glazed tiles. I've used Brown
Hydroment grout, looks really nice all together, sexy in fact.

With the sink I bought the rubber coated wire rack, but it only fits in the
circular part of the sink...so after the kids put their dishes in the other
side and scratched the sink, I bought a rubber mat at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I knew we were in a little trouble when we took the sink out of the box and
installed it and then we read the directions - don't let food sit in the sink,
it may stain? Use only the Kohler cleaner to be purchased from Kohler?
sheesh. I've already given up trying to keep it clean, when I have guests - that
baby will shine.

Anyway, it looks good and soon the kitchen will be done and I'll post
pictures. So far it has a rustic Italian look, which is what I was going for.

Hubby decided WE should tile the kitchen ourselves. MY right elbow is sore
from tiling and grouting, the tips of MY fingers are sore from cleaning . He
bought the little wet saw from Home Depot and it works pretty good. It has
been interesting and easier when HE decided it was okay to take orders from ME.

Pictures will come some time in August or September, twins graduated high
school and are movin' on to college - one to Eastern Michigan U. and one to
Western Michingan U.

Think Mel Gibson in Braveheart and hear me yell - FREEDOM!

many years!)

Ilene,

I'd really like to see pix of your tile job as I'm entertaining doing my
kitchen back splash with home made tiles. Wonder how many other ClayArters
think about it. Mishy Lowe did her bathroom. Pix at her website.

I used to live in Danbury and Southbury. Where are you?

Regards,
