Hi Joyce,
I'm a little late in responding your post about our Naked Raku article
in Clay Times. Thanks for your positive comments about our work.
Charlie and I just returned this morning (3am) from Laloba Ranch Clay
Center (Colorado) after 10 great days at that special place.
I just wanted to point out to everyone that the pictures in the article
are the work of Wally Asselberghs. Although the article is slanted to
represent his work and naked raku method, the photos don't specify whose
work it is. I guess the inclusion of the workshops at our studio kind of
"muddied the water" so to speak. I've received a lot of email with
confusion on this point.
Only one pot is ours, the one with the Pop-off slip-black and white
crackle. The rest of the scrumptious pots and "little monsters" are
Wally's wonderful work. He has the best slip/glaze method that we've
tried and is a really good workshop presenter. We hope to have him back
here next year if we can pry him away from the folks in Arizona that are
already planning to have him teach in several places.
Anyway,
Just wanted to make sure Wally got credit for his incredible work.
Linda
