Hello All,
Recently I have been experimenting again toward
doing ceramic work from photographs. (Weeks of working
with leaves left me looking forward to something more
ambitious.)
....I have no interest in photorealistic stuff
....But this is not a traditional "Mosaic" either.
I am working with "typical snapshots" - the one with
special people at the 4th of july picnic. Using my old
adobe 4 photoshop version I take the size up to about=20
4 foot in the biggest dimension. Then use FILTER=20
- TEXTURE - STAINED GLASS. The cell size seems
right at about 10.=20
Recent resultsr are fascinating me and others. I printed=20
one out and taped it together. Base shape is the hexagon=20
- but they are irregular. Setting the border size a little thick
(5?) will give a photoshop result close to what we can=20
process using smallest diamond burr between objects. =20
Faces and expressions are fascinatingly recognizable. =20
I have been getting what I think are some very interesting=20
results. Interesting Faces! The images can be Posterized=20
after the Filter has been applied to simplify building the image.
Is this interesting to anyone on the Art side?=20
Will be glad to forward the image I have of the full size printed
mosaic for comments.
