Hi Patty!=20
I am the proud guardian of three parrots, one pigeon, and two budgies. =
I do not allow them in my studio ever due to whatever airborn particles =
manage to accumulate.=20
You probably know about birds having air sacs in addition to lungs, =
and why they are subject to so many respiratory ailments. I would think =
that a ceramics studio would be one of the absolute WORST places to keep =
a parrot of any type. (You know that old "canary in a coal mine" =
scenario, they used canaries for this very reason)=20
I closely monitor any smoke, fumes, teflon pans, cleaners, and =
general dust in my home to keep them as healthy as possible. Although I =
adore my feathered buddies and would love to have them near me, I make =
sure I never subject them to any clay dust whatsoever. Call me =
overprotective, but as of this writing my (LOUD--SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO =
THE GUY WHEN I BOUGHT HER!!) Nanday Conure, Hector (should have named =
her "Heckler") is going on 20 years and is doing exceptionally well. =20
If I am preaching the the choir, please forgive me. Eclectus are =
lovely parrots and I wish yours a long and healthy life!
Cheers!
Willie
PS: I don't even let my dogs in the studio unless it is really clean. =
They love to lick the floor!

Willie!
Oh......nice mentions here...
Yes...
One does well to guard them ('Birds') from household (and
other) chemicals, 'dusts' and drafts...
I have never had a Parrot in the family, but transiently,
(raised many orphan, or convelesced many injured adults of)
Sparrows, Pigeons, some Mocking Birds and the odd Starling,
Quail brood, or 'Kill-Deer' ( delicate 'Sand Piper' looking
things, almost impossibly delicate as babys...like a
Dandylion puff with tooth-pick legs...made outta
'whipped-cream'...like that...jeeeeesh...)
Birds!
Oh!
Best!
