who are your mentors?

I looked at Joel's website after reading this and I was very impressed.
Very inspired.

This list seems like a terrific one with a lot of knowledgeable folks and I
thought it would be interesting to look at the works of people that others
looked to for inspiration.

So, what I'm asking is, who are your mentors? Do they have websites or
books available?

Being new to this and to this newsgroup, I'm hesitant to post. Send me to
the archives if this is a dead horse. :-)
