I too use a small wooden stool. Found it at the side of the road. Free is
good! Got tired of my butt sweating on cloth, so I thought wood would be
better. It was, but not much. My partner sarcastically commented one day
that "with as much time as you spend at the wheel, you should be sitting on
a toilet, and I'll send your meals out on a conveyor". (Never did resolve
that issue...it's only been 17 years, I'll get to it :>)
But Ding! and a bell goes off. Off to the hardware store I go for a wooden
toilet seat, which I promptly screwed to the top of the stool. No more
sweating! I did cut an inch and a half off the "front" legs to tip it
forward. Makes centering easier and straightens my back.
No more back trouble. Looks insane, but who cares? Painted it fire engine
red so I can see it peripherally...no more sitting on thin air. (I tend to
get absorbed in my work, like the absent-minded professor)
You've got to be a bit left of center to be a potter anyhow :>)

Hey, i use a chair that i guess as i get older i can use in the shower. Its
designed to be adjusted . Its made of plastic and metal. My friends mom was
using it in the shower till she moved on.
I have it adjusted where the front legs are lower than the back legs. Its not
comfortable to sit and read , BUT its perfect for ME to throw pots. They are
for sale at places that sell stuff for people that need help.

I thought the Ikea stool looked great but didn't like the fit/feel when I
sat on it.
Of course not everyone has a 747 wide body like I do.
I'll stick with my old computer chair, retired from the house years ago.

Elzbieta, IKEA will ship. They have instructions on their website. It may
be worth it. Dolita

The Traktor stool looks interesting. The key question is: will it stay
stable once you're seated in it? Creative Industries has a stool, with
a back, with similar legs, which stabilizes itself once a person sits
on it. My only gripe is that the legs always seem to get in the way
when I'm using the stool and when I'm trying to store it. It's just
plain awkward.

I just looked at that really long Web address posted in your mail.

Here is something that really helps those long URL's. It is a web site
that converts long URLS to just a few letters. Here is the web site. Try
it. It's great.
