lookup tables for thermocouple probe

I've been following the posts about use of a digital multimeter with a
thermocouple , and the need for a lookup table to convert millivolt readings
to temperature values.

If it helps, I can provide tables in Word 97 format, for three types of
probe (Type R, Type K, Type N). Each table prints neatly on an A4 page.
File length is about 60 kB for each one. Contact me off list, and say which
one(s) you need.

When the topic came up last year (August sometime) I had umpteen requests
for these. The offer is still there. Email is wonderful stuff... just push a
button and share info for free.

Even without a lookup table, these digital multimeters attached to a
thermocouple can be a real asset while firing. A few years back I bought
one of the Radio Shack versions (~$20., I think - much cheaper than a
"real" digital pyrometer). I started using it and plotted the readout
against the approximate temperature of the cones I was using. The curve of
the plot gave me an approximate conversion of readout to degrees.

However, I soon realized it was superfluous to convert. The real value was
being able to monitor increase, hold, or decrease in temperature. I did
not need the exact temperature (which wasn't exact, anyway). Just the
direction and speed of the change in temperature. I simply plotted that as
I fired.

Roger, I would, however like a copy of the lookup table of a K-type
thermocouple. Thanks.

Hi All,

I found this resource at:

http://www.temperatures.com/tctables.html

Lots of tables for various TC types.
