This post is for Philip & Ingrid Vanneste-Vuylsteke, Belgium
I have three children 10 Wyatt, 7 Emma, and 4 Aaron, this what I try to do.
Working with children
KICKWHEELS and little kids scare me! use electric if possible or be very vigilant. I have both-Lockerbie and Shimpo Whisper (that handle is great for this)
Preparation is everything when centering. Beginners seldom have the hand strength especially young ones. Have them pat a very round ball of soft smooth 1-2lbs. (too much grog hurts their little hands). Guide their hands gently at first. Teach them to brace their arms and not dig with their fingers.
Find the center with two hands crossed until their fingertips stop moving and push down.
Open with two hands, two fingers overlapped, pull towards belly button
Guide their hands for the knuckle pulls
If they resist, let them try it alone. Some people learn better from their mistakes. I'm one of them! Messes are teaching aids.
Most of all, HAVE FUN!!!
