Ian Currie will be giving his Glaze Workshop at the Jacksonville Museum of
Modern Art (JMOMA). The 2 day workshop will be August 30th & 31st, 2003. Cost of
the workshop is $150. This workshop is a partnership with the museum and the
Visual Arts Department of the Duval County Schools to develop an ongoing
professional development series for Duval County Public Schools Visual Arts
teachers. Our funding has been cut again and this is your opportunity to attend a
great workshop and help our program. The museum facilities are wonderful and
brand new. It has just moved into its newly renovated building in downtown
Jacksonville. For more information please contact Allison Graff at 904-366-6911 x 204
or agraff@jmoma.org.
The workshop is geared to ceramic artists who wish to develop their own
glazes. It provides artists with a working method to assist them in the rapid
development and testing of glazes to obtain desired glaze qualities. Ian Currie is
the internationally respected author of "Stoneware Glazes - A Systematic
Approach" and "Revealing Glazes - Using the Grid Method." His website can be
accessed at: http://www.ian.currie.to
and provides an outline of his workshop.
We would greatly appreciate your passing this information on to your members.
Thank you,
