Your recent postings are most frustrating for those of us with full time
jobs in places far away from North Carolina. You're doing WAY too many
cool things, having WAY too many cool people coming to teach, and
there's NO WAY I can attend and keep my job. So just cut it out, ok???

the boss to send me to North Carolina 3 or 4 or 5 times in the next
couple of months

Wood Kiln Building Workshop

Interested in learning more about wood kilns and wood firing? =
Potter
Bill van Gilder will guide us through the building of a Naborigama style
one chamber kiln, with a preheat chamber. Bill has been a professional
potter for more than 30 years. He is experienced in giving workshops =
and
he has shown his functional work internationally. Now, he is coming to
Greensboro, NC.
During the workshop Bill will give 2 nighttime lectures. The
first night's lecture will focus on Bill's training with Byron Temple =
and
his recent trip to Taiwan. The second night Bill will lecture on wood
kilns, their history and design.
The workshop will run from Monday September 1st through Sunday the
7th (you do not have to be present each day if your schedule will not
allow).
This workshop will be located at Guilford College. The fee is
$150.00 and includes participation in the building (a copy of the plans =
and
brick count) and 2 firings, one during the workshop and one in the =
spring.
Contact Charlie Tefft ctefft@guilford.edu or by phone at 316-2338.

Registration starts Friday August 1st. Please do not call or e-mail
before, as I will be out of town.
