It's gum, and it's in there for the people who like to brush their glazes
on. I've never tried any of the other brand you mention, but I did use some
Spectrum glaze once. It took forever to dry. I hated it.

For the most part, I mix my own glazes and have for years. However, =
there is one commercial glaze I get in powder form and "doctor" to make =
the color I want. It behaves in the bucket like the ones I mix myself.

On a commissioned dinnerware set, I'm using some spectrum and campbell's =
pre-mixed glazes in jars. They are g-o-o-p-y as all get out, which =
makes me thing there's something in there besides powder stuff and =
water. If so, what is it, and why is it there? =20
