Reading about the different ways of dealing with cremated remains reminds me
of how I dealt with a strange request from one of my husbands cousins after
her husband died. She wanted his ashes wedged into the clay and a planter made
for each of the children. I agreed to do this for her until I saw how "chunky"
the ashes were. I decided to sprinkle the ashes in the wet glaze! (I rinsed
the pots in water just before glazing so they would stay wet longer giving me
time to sprinkle the ashes on--while wearing a mask) The effect was interesting.
I made an urn for the rest of the ashes. The family was happy with how it
all turned out. It was an interesting experience.
