Sounds like this chap needs to pee on the fence on a continuum!
That's just a little more than nervy in my opinion. He has 6 years
to work on his technique. Let him have at it. Rome wasn't built in
a day and neither is skill. Even creativity can be learned praticed
and developed. This is a hard way to make a buck and I hate to
see it trivialized. He needs to know this or make molds of his own
excellent works. That ain't no party either. It takes alot of time.
I may not have been doing clay very long (just under 10yrs),but I've
been in the arts professionally and otherwise my entire life and have
the kudos to show for it. I vote NO. Sharing is one thing this is an
entirely different thing. But do be gracious. Imitation is the greatest
form of flattery. Even if it is annoying (I have STORIES on that one).
