Gail,
You must have one of those circus vehicles!
Did it come with clowns?:-)
I must tell you though, I wouldn't trade my Dodge Caravan
even if I was given one of those magic circus cars.
I pack my van to the gills and still have room
plus hubby just installed a new CD player...
Yippee!
Just this past weekend I wowed someone with
just how much I packed in it.

I found out something pretty interesting this past Sunday - I can get my EZ-
UP, 12 4-ft PVC legs with flange feet, 6 metal panel walls (3' X 5'?), a
director's chair, a tarp, 4 sandbags, my box o' junk (tools, credit card
acceptance stuff, etc.), a lunch cooler, a radio, 15 oil paintings (varying
in size between 21" sq. and 24" X 30") and a couple of framed prints, ALL
INTO MY TOYOTA ECHO. At once. I didn't even have to move the driver's seat
out of its normal position. Who says I have a small car? 40 mpg, to boot!
Whoo Hoo!

On a similar note,
When I packed my pots after=20
a very disappointing show,=20
(everyone complained about
the lack of sales) I hastely
stuffed my table clothes,
really nice funky fabrics that
I had for a while, and my
box of business cards, as well
as my nifty handmade sign that
I sat on the table, declaring the
name of the studio, decorated
with a rare hawk feather, beads
and shells, all into a black garbage
bag. When I arrived home I carefully
unloaded my pots, with the help of my
son, carried them back to the studio.
The garbage bag I had dropped near
the doorsteps to carry into the house.
I was so tired I walked into the house
through the back door, forgetting the
bag laying at the side door. The next
day being trash pick up day, my=20
son pushed the trash container to the
edge of the highway for the rural trash
truck to empty. Not before picking up
my "garbage bag" and tossing it on top
of the trash cart. When I rememberd and
discovered what happened I called a=20
friend who worked at the land fill and
asked him about the possiblity of=20
locating my stuff in that days trash pick up.
He still laughs at me when he sees me.
Lesson learned.
Sheron in NC where,=20
even the alligators are coming out of the swamp
looking for high ground.

Gayle -
Funny you should mention the circus reference, as that was exactly what =
I
was thinking when I was packing! No, it didn't come with clowns, but it =
has
a clown now (me), so that is close enough, I guess. I used to be Bingo =
the
Clown at the Ground Round Restaurant in Redford, MI. Another one of my =
fine
career choices.
One of the next ceramics business purchases will be a van, but I have my =
eye
on an Odyssey, with those fold-into-the-floor seats. Cool! I hope to =
find
one that is not too used, at a fair price. I know, good luck! Honda =
owners
tend to hang on to their Hondas.
I have a different question. Why does it always rain during an art fair? =
I
have been in two so far, and it has rained on both of them. Sheesh.

Oh, I am grateful. Someone else at the show lost everything, and I am
assuming it was watercolors or something like it. They didn't have a =
tent. I
can't imagine doing a fair without a tent, unless my work was something =
that
was supposed to go outside.
