I allways drove older vehicles, and I drove rather slowly,
usually...

Sometimes acquaintances make fun of me for my slowish
driveing.

One day ( here in Las Vegas) a girl I knew as had a new
Porsche
Car, and she was teasing me about the slow thing, and, I bet
her twenty Dollars I could beat her in a race across town
(on all surface Streets, stop-lights and so on) to a
restaurant we both liked. I was in my '46 Chevrolet one ton
Truck.

The race was about ten miles...and...I won by about two
minutes.

I did drive faster than I usually do...but not very much so
( my top speed was about 48 mph anyway...but I doubt I got
over 35...)

Done this a few times since, with various people, and I have
never lost.

I have allways loved Driveing, and have a patient,
interested, observant, sometimes amused temperment with it.

I know almost no else as does. Many people are upset and
impatient very readily, every day, and do not pay attention
very well with their emotions wanging into knots as divert
or compromise or direct their attentions. It will almost
allways take them longer to get there, at least on surface
Streets.

If it were fun for them...'Driveing', and Driveing in the
actual conditions we drive in...maybe it would be
fun-for-them...

It is for me...!

I may not consistantly transfer this attitude to all parts
of Life...but now that I think of it, maybe I would be
happier if I did!

...hmmm...

Happy Motoring!
