Carolyn:
I too would request some, and am more than willing to
pay whatever expense is involved. (We have no horses
here on the island.)
However, judging from the response you are prob'ly
gonna get, you're gonna have to shave that poor steed
BALD to fill the orders
Maybe next time. Keep me in mind...

Best,

I gave up the violin 30 years ago but remember that bows are strung
with horsehair. Occasionally they need rehairing. If you have fiddle or
other string repair shop near you you could make a deal for the used
hair.

Hi Carolyn-
I'd love to get some if possible- also be quite happy to
pay any expense involved. I'm firing the wood kiln Sunday...
I could swap you a pot for some hair
If you want to email me directly I'll send you my address
(couldn't find your original post)
Thanks

A belated thank you. I got the horsehair and then went in for back surgery
before I could thank you. I then promptly forgot until I could go back to
the studio. Anyway, thank you again.

Thank you, Jeff.

I have been meaning to say that, too! I will try it for the first time
tomorrow. It will be just a practice on a bowl/test tile to get familiar with
handling it on a piece that would have otherwise been broken and discarded.... but I
can hardly wait.

I'm also going to try blowing sugar out of my hand on to it.

So it will be a mishmash but I'll have some experience with these approaches
before doing it on something I care about.
