My mom, some years before the end of her life, had taken to
the habit of tee-vee watching, and in long periods of doing
it, too.

And her method, was to scruntch into the end area of a
Couch...

Thence to complain often, of how it is her shoulder and back
were hurting and 'stiff'.

Needless to say I offered what I felt was some useful
advisements about that...

Never the less, on some otherwise routine visit to her
'doctor', I was accidently apprised by him, (amid the walls
plastered with 'degrees' and so on, awards, organizations of
his profession and his status and so on in them...and) of
how he had sceduled her for 'Back Surgery' for the following
week...

Taking him aside, I asked "Doc, how come you have sceduled
my mom for "Back Surgery?"

He says, "She has chronic Back and Shoulder pain."

I said, "Did you ask her why - did you inquire into her
habits?"

He says, "No..."

So I undertook the following experiment...(naive Science)

I said, "Doc...here's what yer gonna do...you will unscedule
her for the 'Back Surgery' and you will be very, very
careful what you prescribe or recommend or 'sign-her-up-for'
from now on, that is, if I ever bring her back TO you, and,
I may not decide to, too.

If I do decide to, and I am not happy with your regimines, I
will visit you at my liesure and make decidedly sure you
spend some time in the recipient end of what will actually
be necessary rather than 'elective' remedial and corrective
Surgerys, seeing as you like 'em so much and all, do you
understand Doc? - are we nice-and-clear on this matter?"

He, sheepishly, furtively, freightenedly says..."...yes..."

Anyway...

In the Car on the way home, I had something of a little
'pep-talk' with my mom about how it was her head being so
far up her ass and all, was a mitigateing aetiological
factor in her 'Back' pain, and, getting home, I tossed the
tee-vee AND the 'Couch'...her symptoms soon abated...

Tell me, who was the 'better' Scientist here?

(Consider it a "Multiple Choice Question"...)

Amusedly,
