Lily made this mention:
:Although Gayle included a dictionary definition, etymological dictionaries
--vide O.E.D.-- have it a bit differently.:
Lily,
I heard you say you were done with this, but would you please elaborate for
us (those of us who do not know) on the above referance? I want to check
that out.
It is my opinion that if we cannot aggree on what words mean, then all is
lost. This is the basis of language, and one of the things which seperates
us from (some) the other life forms on this planet. Yes? No?
Thanks

Hey Leland,
I bend that way also, but (thankfully) that fight
is doomed to failure. All we should hope to do is
slow down the change enough so that for practical=20
purposes it appears imperceptible. Hey! kind of like
the glass phase. Cool, man.
I hope I'm not repeating too many posts ( I hate that),
but O.E.D. =3D Oxford English Dictionary =3D the numero
uno dictionary for serious wordmongers.
Spin 'round,
Taylor, in Waco
