kiln sitting on vent - wobbly - help

Hi all....
I have been listening for years - storing all your words of wisdom in my poor
brain - thanks!

I just received a new kiln from Olympic - 2331 - and it sits on the orton
kiln vent and is wobbly. It does not seem safe. The kiln is about 28 inches
wide and the vent is only 18 inches wide. Did they send the wrong size vent?

They sent the wrong kiln to begin with - I know, I know, I read all the
archived material about Olympic and thought I would trust them - the kiln came
without the electronic control - they say they will send it seperately. I guess
that is ok and not as bad as some of the stories but I am worried about the
vent.

The kiln is way too heavy to be wobbly.
Thanks .... Mary Lou

The top of the kiln stand should be directly under the kiln walls. If
the stand is too small to be under the walls, the kiln bottom may
receive too much stress.

Mary Lou,
The orton 18 in. stand vent is the correct vent for your kiln. To correct a
wobbly stand, shim the leg under the high corner and that should stabilize
the kiln. I apoligize for your receipt of the incorrect options on your
kiln. We are expressing a computer wall unit to you to rectify the mistake.
If you have any further questions plase call me at (800)241-4400.
