Hi Michelle and Elisabeth...!

I am on a 'demand-meter'...

It began long ago, and never left...when this old crappy
Building had some nasty ground faults and power was
'leaking' into the Earth...

As I had, in the estimation of the power company, used more
electricity than I routinely did...and my 'bills', having
been as sixty dollars a month, thence oweing to the 'leak'
became $125.00 a month...

They allowed me the privelege of being on a demand meter
where my bills would be 125.00 a month no matter if I turned
everything off and left town...I had the problems repaired,
and used then even much less ( like maybe what should have
been as fifty dollars a month..my neighbor's bills as are
48.00 a month and I KNOW he uses more juice than I
do...sigh...)

For a year I had to be on this...I spent DAYS seeking
resolution, to no avail at any level of the power company.

Their logic? Their enexorable 'rule'? Their corporate
policy? If you 'suddenly' or liesurely use more power than
you used to, even from a 'short' in the wireing, then you
will be on a 'demand' meter and pay the maximum useage you
had achieved as a fluke, and you will do this for a
year...no matter what you actually use as is less than that.

Anyway...

I do not have any affection for the power company...

And none of my bills have ever made any sense since then...

If I shut everything off and leave town for WEEKS...my
'bills' allways are on their little 'graph' and bear NO
relation to what I actually use...

I will be so HAPPY when I someday move!

...sheeeeeeeeesh!
