A number of years ago, I asked to have 'fragile' stamped on a package I was mailing. He told me that he would do it, and I quote " machines can't read'. So with that in mind, everything I have mailed since is 'belt and suspenders', meaning that nothing will fall down or off. Maybe it is overkill but I have had no breakage. (:>)
I have attended two installations(I wrote to Toni Smith about these) that raised a question in my mind about art and the jurors and what they were looking for. One was two twin bed mattresses tied together in the middle and standing on end. Another exhibit, and this was a state wide event, had a toilet with a hand coming out. That one gives a whole new meaning to crap??
Always behind in reading Clayart, but catching up slowly, it is Labot Day and i am off to our huge jurored community art festival. It is held on open parkland so will need old shoes and an umbrella. I usually can catch up with Clayarters or others that I know.at this but did not see a name that I recognized in the listing of ceramic people, except for Elaine Lamb of Medina, Ohio. Time to make new friends.
The carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand is healing. The numbness and pain is gone--and I am doing everything the surgeon said and not pushing it. SHE did some other stuff while she was in there so I have a partial cast on til Friday. I will be doing some decorating on greenware-right hand- that I stockpiled for this healing time. I have some important exhibits in the fall and early winter. Also, some orders to fill--two burial urns( they just want their urns made by me-saw the one I had for my beloved daughter-in-law), some bowls, multiple chalices---I love it !!!!!!
Healing in several ways.
