Hi all,
I have been looking for a silicon carbide wheel that will attach to a 6" =
bench grinder with a 1/2" auger. I have checked all the known places lik=
e Ace Hardware, Lowe's and Home Depot and some that are not so well known=
. I have found them for 8" but am having no luck with 6". I do crystall=
ine glazes and need to grind the bottoms of my pots. I just got the late=
st Pottery Illustrated with all of the ceramic supplier list maybe someth=
ing in there.
Thanks for the help

Hi Ellie,

I think you may mean a 1/2 inch Arbor...

Six Inch Wheels should be easy to find...I am surprised the
places you have shopped do not have them.

You could also try the yellow-pages under 'Bearings' or
under Abrasives, or under Machinery or Tools, and make some
calls.

'Sears and Roebuck', or 'Montgomery Ward' should also have
some selection in their otherwise sorry 'Tool' isles...

Anyway, here where I live, some of the places as specialize
in Bearings or Abrasives, sometimes have good selections of
Abrasive Wheels as well...

Goos luck!

Ellie -

Try Rio Grande in Albuquerque New Mexico. They have
supplies for several types of businesses. I assembled
my grinding rig in the jewelry supply catalog. Get a
catalog in hand and ask to speak with a technical
advisor - they're great.
