Dear Friends,
Aged brains take some time to kick into gear but I had a recollection of =
reading long ago that the original Chinses cobalt blue came from native =
pebbles collected from river beds near to the potteries which created =
the Chinese blue decoration.
Since it seemed an old memory so I checked in the first Pottery book I =
ever bought, pre English decimalisation. Yes, Good old Bernard has it =
pinned down. Second Edition of "A Potter's Book", 1960. Reprinted 1967., =
pp 128-9 and footnote.
