Someone wrote just today about a pump that works like the pump in a fish
tank. It compresses tubing.
I erased the note before I got the name of what type of pump it is.
Would you please let me know what the name of that type of pump is offline.

The type of pump you are refering to is called "peristaltic".
If a type is used as a glaze pump, frequent use will cause the plastic
tubing to wear out from the abrasive action of the glaze igredients. This,
however, would be cheap to replace.

I have been thinking about using (building) a hand operated one to meter
out different volumes of liquid glazes for doing glaze tests instead of
using plastic syringes.
