Paul and David make good points.
I would like to add a plug for the Green Mountain Energy Company (http://=
www.greenmountain.com/.)
They have several packages that allow one to choose more ecological ways
of how your power is created. Kind of neat to think of firing an electri=
c
kiln with geothermal or wind power.

I am not a stock holder...I do buy power from them.

Good point, David, but even that's not the full story. Wind generation
often kills a lot of birds. And here in the Pacific Northwest, almost al=
l
our electricity comes from hydro-elecric generators, mostly on the Columb=
ia
and Snake River systems, but also on many of the smaller rivers. And a
huge
side benefit from these dams is the irrigated agriculture in what used to=
be
a desert.
But it has come at the expense of the almost total elimination of what on=
ce
was one of the greatest salmon runs in the world.
Nothing is free. Every choice has consequences.
