commerical majolica glaze to remedy pinholing

Jerry,

It's not a commercial glaze but my variation on Mathias Ostermann's
miaolica glaze. I've eliminated the whiting as being useless, subbed
ESVA for his Bell's Dark and used silica, kaolin and Zircon Silicate
from a loca supplier. It's a beautiful fat shiny white glaze. The dry
glaze is a little dusty (I'm following the glaze surface hardening
thread) but I'm not painting on it yet. It breaks so beautifully over
texture that I'm having a lot of fun with that.

The glaze doesn't move very much at all. I dry-foot a VERY slight margin
and have never had glaze on a shelf.

It pinholes a little on application but they even right out in the
firing. I think the medium slow firing and the long soak help.

It has a slight tendancy to shiver or even crack pots if it's applied
too thickly. Ron has formulated a version using 3110 that should fix
this but I haven't tested it yet (getting my 3110 in a couple weeks)
