packing the kiln : qustion about venting sys & elec

Unfortunately, I don't have anything to contribute to this conversation =
in the form of information. However, I do have a question which may =
provide the opportunity for some interesting responses. Now, with that =
rather grandiose introduction, here goes:

How should ware be packed in an electric kiln equipped with a downdraft =
style venting system?

Also, I just test fired my kiln for the second time and it went well. It =
seemed to go fine although it was very fast. I reached cone 06 in just =
under 12 hours, including candling. This is fast, Right? I am expecting =
it to be a few hours longer when I fire my first actual load. Any =
thoughts?

Thanks,

Paul: Depends on how long the candling was. If it was brief, I'd say that 12
hours to 06 was kinda long. At least it would be for me.
