Many years ago,I had a job that required me to stand up for hours on end (cement floor) running a sheet metal brake (bender) making steel doors for jails. Even with a rubber pad to stand on, once in a while, back problems were really a issue. I had to stand mostly on one leg with the brake pedal worked by the other leg.

After complaining to a old-timer there, he showed me his work boots. they had a 1-1/2 - 2" heel (electrical lineperson's boots). I bought a pair, motorcycle boots with a 1-1/2 heel and all the pain went away within a week and never came back. I have worn "healed" boots" since then - even for walking. Possibly worth a try!.
