so much about food is language.
sea weed?
how about `wonderful sea food`?
or, `vegatables from the ocean`?
we us the word `weeds` and it
seems as tho we are eating crap.
not so.
the orientals have been farming the sea for thousands
of years, and find it plentiful...and good.
sea vegetables come in many varieties, and one cannot
say things like....`i cannot abide the taste`. there are too
many to taste. and, it is an acquired taste, like great single malt scotch.
(scots make scotch, it is a drink, not a people.)
take this as an example. i hate the taste of dead cow flesh.
or is that sirloin?

Naw, Mel... I just don't like the TASTE. There is a universal "undertaste" to
all seaweed. A Japanese friend of mine even brought several varieties into
the studio for me to try, but they all had that same undertaste, and that's what
I didn't like.
So I don't think I'll ever be a sushi afficionado.

Sushi is the rice. No need for the seaweed
Take an ice cube tray, plastic.
Drill neat 1/2Inch holes in the bottom.
press sushi rice lightly into the trays with Umeboshi (sp) plums
(pitted) inside the rice.
Sprinkle with freshly cracked freshly toasted sesame seeds.
pop out to the trays and into mouth.
Y'all down here in Tejas we call sushi Good!
No need for yummy seaweed.
