i saw a big show a bit ago (royal academy, london, i think), and it was
very impressive.

not that the pots were that great, or it was a potters
show...it was a painters show.

the power and confidence shown in his brush strokes
with stain, slips and glaze was very inspiring.
no hesitation, just blast the pots with images.
and, without question, he was aware of the shape
of the pot, for the images fit well in almost all cases.

that is the key. simple shapes, powerful brush stroke.
confidence.
it was like great chinese and japanese historical pots.
powerful, no need for a three paragraph explanation.
just get after it.
