Pouring Vessels
Susan Beecher
Dates: October 18-19 (2-Day Workshop, Sat. & Sun.)
Time: 10am - 4pm
Fee: $160

This two day hands-on workshop will focus on functional pouring vessels
including: pitchers, oil bottles, batter bowls, gravy boats, teapots, cruet sets,
and soy bottles. Altering these forms into ovals or squares with added feet or
specially-cut feet will also be taught, as well as decorative handles.
Different types of surface treatments will be discussed. Slides will be shown on
Sunday during lunch. Students will be encouraged to develop their own ideas in a
relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

Susan Beecher is a nationally recognized ceramic artist and workshop leader
whose work has been consistently accepted into prestigious exhibitions. Her
work has also been widely published in such books as: The Best of Pottery,
Volumes I & II; The Best of New Ceramic Art; and Beautiful Use: Contemporary
American Pottery. She teaches widely and has given workshops at art centers
throughout the U.S. She maintains a studio in NYC and the Catskill Mountain Region of
NY.
