hi cindi --

just a somewhat off-the-thread comment . . . don't replace your bucherblock
island just because of a stain. the beauty of those pieces is that you can
sand off a few millimeters (or more if need be), then cure/soak it with vegetable
oil and it's like new!

Might I suggest 'Mineral oil' instead of the vegetable oil, it won't get =
'rancid' in this application.
