Dear Lily,

making bricks of various sizes (from mini-sized ones, which I made from =
slabs and cut, through to massive capping bricks on top of pillars) is =
what I have done and still do.
A very simple mould made from wood, oiled and just throw the clay in is =
quickest - do not use plaster if you can help it.
Question. Does your brick have a frog in it? This is the dent or =
impression into the surface to allow your bonding material to have a =
certain thickness, if you need to have a frog that is also easy in the =
wooden mould just make the male equivalent and stick it into the base.
I use kiln dried sand - from 15% to 25% added to my body, a standard red =
clay. Grog size 30's to 80's just mixed in by hand when slightly damp =
and kneaded.
If the brick is quite small then I would make slabs - I make slabs by =
hand using gyage sticks and a stretched wire, very simple veryt quick =
very flat - then using a strip template cut strips, then cut the bricks. =
I built a dolls house using this method making several thousand in just =
the one sitting.
Have fun.
