There is a recipe for a cone 10 glaze "new green" that we use and fire to
cone 05 and it crazes and cracks (like dry earth cracks). We actually WANT
that effect, and we were trying to do it in blue, yellow and gray. I kept
the original recipe and just added mason stains, 10%, but now it doesnt
really harden, you can scrape it with your fingernail. Tried adding
magnesium carb, and it just made it worse. Does anyone have tested recipes
that have this same effect for cone 05? Thanks.

don't have a ready made answer for you but some easy and nifty starting points
here. Instead of using 1:1 proportions try 2:1 (by volumes) using any
lowfiring glaze or frit as a base

Try adding increasing amounts of Frit 3110 to your glaze.
