brent wheel problem...

I'm de-lurking to ask for help... I purchased a used (1985 vintage)
Brent model C which doesn't work :-( It worked fine when I checked it
out at its previous home but I think it didn't like the ride to its new
home (or something like that). Anyway, the light on the switch flickers
but the wheel is otherwise, um, asleep.

I opened up the box that houses the switch and electronics and there
has been some kind of "problem"... One of the resistors was cooked. I
mean cooked so bad it broke in two. Cooked so bad that I can't identify
the value of the component and therein lies my problem. I'd replace it
but I don't know what to replace it with. I think that it's a half watt
resistor and the ident color rings are brown/black/????/gold. I've
taken a digital shot of the board with an indication of the location of
the resistor in question. I would be happy to send it to anyone who can
help out. If anyone has a schematic of this board I'd love to have that
as well. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, I did contact the Brent folks and was told that they'd be happy to
sell me a new board but they don't keep any component level
information. That's fine and I may have to do that but I'd rather make
the repairs if possible. I was a little surprised that they didn't have
any more information they could share about the wheel...

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Regards,
Dave

Dave,
Several years ago I was fixing a wheel at school and examined a Brent
wheel there to get Ideas and I reverse engineered the schematic and
layout. I have sent you the drawings from my file on the computer. I
hope that this is what you need.
If you don't know the color code, etc. on parts I can help as I spent
a previous lifetime as an electronic engineer.

Just a thought. Did you take the component along with the picture (the
whole board would be better, if it can be detached) to an electronics
shop. They might be able to decipher what the value is supposed to be.
Not much help, I suppose. Anyway, good luck.
