firing fish bone

I have recently come into the posession of many pound of fish bones. They
are mostly lovely triangular bones with annualar growth lines that appear
to be the from the front fins of tilapia, the fish that have overrun the
Salton Sea. There are also a few skulls, some wickedly sharp teeth in
lower jaws and vertebrae with spines. The beaches at the salton sea are
mostly made of these bones and barnicles. Walking along the shore is very
crunchy and in places the shell bone combination appears to be feet deep.
I have gotten less than delightful results from firing shells on pieces,
but I am now curious as to what these bones would do? I have access to
gas, soda and electric firings. I imagine the smell will be awesomely
bad.... This was one of the ways I have been entertaining myself while
caring for my mom in Indio...

If i had a lot of fishbones i would fire them in a bisqe in a unglazed bowl
till i had enough to use them as a ASHGLAZE.

It mite be some neat stuff
