teabowls and breasts

And see, what I had always heard was, "More than a mouthful's wasted." It
must be a regional colloquialism. I am just happy when I am not called
"Sir". It happens more often than it should. I had a whole car full of
teenaged girls hooting at me one time when I was on my bicycle - I was
wearing my varsity jacket, a baseball cap (I have really short hair),
shorts, and workboots. Under the jacket was a fairly snug sleeveless shirt.
When I got tired of all the horn-honking and whistling, I turned around and
flashed open my jacket. The look on those girls' faces - Priceless. They
were horrified. They were certain that I was some young, studly guy.
Hahahahah.

So, Lois -

It appears that you got my share, too!

And what's up with this $40 for a bra thing at Vicki's Secret? You've =
got to
be kidding - I could get away a lot cheaper with two band-aids, or, as =
my
dad used to call the new bikini design, "two band-aids and a cork". He =
used
to say this back in the early 60's. I wonder what he would say today.

Well, really, Lee...how am I going to compare? First I will need a tea =

the same. I would have to cup someone else's breast I think - that =

Dolita - just having a little fun....

Gosh, Lee -

How about those of us where two hands is one hand too many? Good Lord, I am
still waiting for bra manufacturers to understand an 'A' cup is too big for
some women. Now I have to have a complex about not having enough room for two
hands on one breast.

Sheesh.

Who? Me? No, no... Not in cyber space, Dolita!! Anyway, been
there, done that and got a tale to tell... It is not for general
consumption let me hasten to add. Like at the office party when
the photocopier... Well, anyway... It would upset people.

But it did concern weighing. Not just in hands, but on scales! As
the evening progressed and the party got even more out of hand,
it was suggested that the women would not be able to point out
their husbands in a line-up if only certain parts of them were
showing... Like I say... NOT for general consumption... But mail
me off-list and I will reveal all.. Oops... Better rephrase
that...!

Fondling Pots is Russel Fouts' department anyway... He is No. 1
Self-confessed Pot Fondler on the list. Admits to it quite
openly...

Seriously though... Not any old tea bowl will suit... There are
different shapes and sizes, heights and widths, covered and
uncovered, thrown, carved... An amazing and infinite variety, so
just about everything from Gail P's not yet A cup sized to Lois's
DD. Most potters have well-developed hands. Strong hands.
Muscular hands. Large or small, they "leave their mark", in that
when you cup a bowl that they have made in your own hands, you
either feel that affinity or you don't. Sometimes that special
"it" is there, but more often it is not... At least in my
experience, because I have never had the good fortune to visit
Japan where there would be the opportunity of finding lots of
bowl with "it".

The weight and balance of a tea bowl are so very important,
beyond the shape and size, so I think Lee is slightly misguided
in his analogy, although it reveals his reverence for both. But
he can explain much better than I could even attempt to... I am
just an infidel... I "dissed" Leach once and Lee has never
forgotten...

Sincerely

Janet Kaiser -- Just thinking this subject line is not going to
get through many filters!? As for your alternative suggestion for
the ladies of the list to cup Dolita, there are so many bollocks
flying around cyberspace via Clayart just now I would just
squeeze very hard if given the opportunity... Perhaps bringing
water to the eyes would make them see some sense! Ha! Ha!!!! No,
this is not an original thought of mine, but I shall NOT tell you
which Clayarter suggested that as a sure-fire way of grabbing the
attention. The example given was of health professionals who are
about to inflict pain... And I wish I had the courage to
implement this excellent advice where my physioterrorist is
concerned...

And it's always "that" part of my shirt that is caked with clay after
a throwing session. That boobage makes it tough to throw tall
things! And I can't tell you how many pots I have dented just by
leaning over. =20

No, Lee a little farther across the plain.

Gail, that's the only place I've EVER had cleavage!
Except when nursing babies.

Never had any complaints.

:^) Philip Rawson writes about the organic nature of pottery forms
and also how they relate to the human body. I think his book on ceramics
is a must read.

I think actually, pulling handles is more related to the male
anatomy you speak of.

Haha! Should I have said, "a 'C' cup breast? ;^)

As a person who believes strongly that "form follows function", I
agree with what an "Old Timer" once told to me (Kids, please cover your eyes
a moment) :^)

"What you can't get in your mouth is extra.!"

I heard on bilingual T.V. the other day, that the demand for larger
bra sizes are on the rise here in Japan. They think it is because of the
change of diet: People are eating more protein and fat now.
