I would try some of that cleaner with orange oil. Can't hurt, might help.

Several people in the community art space I work in are using vaseline in
plaster moulds for their clay work as a matter of routine. The manager wishes
this practice to stop forthwith.
What is the best method to get rid of vaseline residue in these moulds to get
them back to pristine condition, or are they now useless?
