has someone stolen mel`s beach job?

Janet Kaiser on thu 2 oct 03

As reported in The Independent (UK daily newspaper) this week, a
15 year old German boy spent his holiday in Turkey collecting
odd-shaped stones off the beach. He packed them in his suitcase
to take home and now his father is sitting in prison awaiting
trial for attempting to steal important historical artefacts!

Now either someone has taken over Mel`s Job in Turkey or it
beggars the question... Where was Mel last week??

It reminds me of the time we brought a suitcase full of shells
home from New Zealand. The customs man at Auckland airport made
us unpack (we obviously looked disreputable!) and when he saw
what was in the box, he shook his head and said in that
customs-and-excise voice, "You cannot take those out of the
country". We asked him why not and he answered, "If every tourist
took so many, there would be none left". Then he smiled... Guess
he did not do any training in Turkey!

Sincerely

Janet Kaiser :-) And the answer to the "how many running
centimetres of Clayarters names are there?" Well up to this
evening, it is smack bang on 250!!! Two and half meters of 10pt
letters is a lot of names... Higher than the ceiling in an
average Welsh cottage!
