Hi Ann,
If the Wheel Head is removable, one could check to see if
there is anything affecting the fit.

Subject: Bailey wheel problem
A fellow potter just called me for help, why, i don't know.
Her, almost brand new Bailey ST100 has a vibrating wheel
head. The wheel is level, oiled, and the pens for the bats
are tight. Also, she checked the clay directly on the metal
head, without the bat, and the needle tool shows the
concentric circles on the wheel head to be a bit off.
Any suggestions???? I have one Bailey where i teach and
have had no problems.
thanks, ann

The concentricness of the circles do not have to have anything to do
with vibration. My guess would be the belt/bearings or electronic
controller.

Subject: Bailey wheel problem
A few years ago I bought a Pro X wheel from Bailey, and I really love =3D
it. I work standing up, and that has been really good.
A few days ago, as I was throwing, the wheel started to 'snap', the =3D
only word I can think of, to describe this. It also lurches and startles =
=3D
me.
I thought in might be electrical, and maybe it is, but we don't think =3D
so. No shock occurres. I called Brian at Bailey, and followed his =3D
instructions. First, we redid the bands that drive the wheel head.. =3D
No difference. Still snaping. Then we opened the motor and cleaned the =
=3D
brushes. Better, but still snapping. This a.m. the snapping is a bit =3D
stronger.
To define snapping more clearly: It makes a noise, somewhat like a =3D
rubber band, and the wheel lurches. The noise I can get used to, but =3D
the movement is a real problem.
If anyone has had this problem and understands this particular brand =3D
and model, I would like your imput.
Bailey has said they will help solve this, but I would like to throw =3D
today, if possible.
Thanks,
Rikki Gill
