Greetings to all from Mishima, Japan.
This Friday, Oct.17th, begins the online exhibition and world debut
of Tsujimura Kai. Kai is the second son of Tsujimura Shiro. His work is
very mature for his age, as one can imagine growing up with magnificent pots and mixing
clay at age four for his more-than-gifted father. The best lessons are often silent.
In addition, there will be an interview-article as well.
The URL's for both are www.japanesepottery.com and
www.e-yakimono.net
To close, here is a quote from the late great Bizen potter Kaneshige
Toyo, it rings true:
"In three years anyone can learn the ways of a potters wheel,
but to bring your items to life, what you must first do is
learn the ways of people and learn the ways of your heart."
So the wheel turns.......all the best each day.
