Hello Clayarters everywhere, (or should I say g'day?)
My daughter is going to Australia for a semester abroad and this presents a
perfect opportunity for a visit! I know there have been messages from
people down under on clayart in the past, and I am seeking advice from them,
or anyone else, who has traveled to New Zealand and Australia. She will be
in school in Brisbane. Our tentative plan is to fly to Aus. by way of NZ.
I think we'll want to travel to Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and their
environs.
Sooooo....what potters to visit, museums to see, etc would be welcome
information! We'll be there for a month or so, leaving the states in late
January some time. (school doesn't start there until late Feb-early March,
so we have time to travel a bit before we see her)
You can email us directly at: fozereko@art.umass.edu
I know it's a big place, they drive on the "wrong" side of the road, and it
will be "bloody, stinking hot" when we're there.......I guess we'll fly a
lot.
Thanks for any advice offered.

Hi Francine,
You can find out something about the pottery scene in New Zealand by
visiting the website for the New Zealand Society of Potters:
http://www.nzpotters.com
If you are down in Dunedin in the South Island call in and visit the Otago
Polytechnic School of Art which offers ceramic education to masters level.
